* Ki-Moon Called on Iraqis to Resolve Differences Through Respect for the Constitution and the Independence of the Judiciary

Urged the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, all political parties in Iraq to work to resolve differences through constructive dialogue and make some concessions, calling for the separation of powers and the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. The Secretary-General said in a statement posted on the official website of the international organization that «the differences continued to contribute in increased insecurity in the country which has seen a series of bombings in recent times »,Adding that «it is necessary to resolve the political issues in a way that respects the Constitution and its provisions for the separation of powers and the rule of law and judicial independence». With the start of receipt of the Iraqi government complete control of the security beginning of the year following the withdrawal of U.S. forces, Secretary-General said that «this is an opportunity to strengthen the democratically elected institutions» . The UN Secretary-General that its mission in Iraq UNAMI «ready to consult with Iraqi leaders and to provide assistance».
