BAGHDAD, Jan. 5 (AKnews) – Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his State of Law Coalition have crossed the lines of partnership in the government, a National Accord Movement spokesman says.

Hadi al-Dhalemi believes some Iraqi media and politicians imagine that there are personal issues between Maliki and his bitter rival and predecessor Ayad Allawi. This, Dhalemi asserted, is false.

But there are differences in the two leaders’ views over the way to establish the state, he conceded.

Dhalemi added: “There are lines that should not be crossed but Prime Minister Maliki and SLC, whether as partners in government or in political process, crossed them.”

“The National Accord Movement is open to all the political forces and if that violation was not corrected, there will be reconciliation.”

Ministers and members of Iraqiya List, led by Allawi, have boycotted parliament and council sessions for more than two weeks in protest of what they have described as “unilateral rule”.

Yesterday Maliki officially issued leaves of absence for Iraqiya ministers and this added to the accusations.

Maliki also sacked his deputy Saleh Mutlag, an Iraqiya leader, after he said Maliki is “like a dictator”.

Another Iraqiya leader, the Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, has accused Maliki of interfering in his case. Hashemi stands accused of terrorism and has fled to Kurdistan Region.
